Show Of Hands in Norwich December 2003

We saw the first of two nights that Show Of Hands played at the Norwich Maddermarket. Tonight they were joined by Matt Clifford on keyboard. We had not heard the new material from the Country Life cd before. Several songs were included from the new cd and they fitted into the set with ease. There were two traditional songs from the new cd Reynadine and Adieu Sweet Lovely Nancy that I did not expect. The banter in between songs was as funny as ever and told tales of when and how they came to play in Norwich for the first time 10 years ago. There were some people at that gig on the night we were there. It could be one of those things where more people claim to be there than actually were!

As they were staying in Norwich the following day they had the chance to go on Radio Norfolk and drum up some more people for the second night. Country Life was played before the interview despite the view that they hold that someone in the BBC thinks that the song is too political. They then played I Promise

You live. A very enjoyable evening and an interview in the morning to keep the memory's coming. It was good to see listees, friends and neighbours there and stop and have a chat
